NYC Police Communications Technicians are the first points of contact for emergency service response in the City of New York. This highly trained and dedicated workforce operate the largest emergency call center in North America. They serve as radio dispatchers of police resources and perform all other clerical and administrative duties for both emergency fire and medical related services. Under the guidance of Supervising Police Communication Technicians they tirelessly and diligently serve the largest city in the United States handling around 9 million calls annually or roughly 600,000 calls per day. These diligent first responders quickly and accurately assess each emergency situation and dispatch the appropriate emergency responders to the location.They consistently prove adept in service to our international city with linguistic diversity of over 600 different languages spoken throughout the metropolitan area. This unseen workforce is an essential component in addressing any man made, natural disaster or personal crisis 365 days a year, 24 hours a day and minute by minute.
